Today our customers wanted to hook up to something big so we set our sights on Blue Marlin and headed to South Kona. We informed our customers that fishing had been uncharacteristically slow for summer time in Kona but that we'd try our best to find a big fish. Fortunately we were able to fulfill our fishy aspirations. We hooked a Blue Marlin at 1000 fathoms off of Red Hill. Our Marlin danced on the surface as we cleared the lines and backed down on the fish. We had her to the boat in less than 20 minutes. We took a measurement of the Marlin at the boat and concluded that she weighed at least 400 pounds! Then we oxygenated her by allowing sea water to flow through her gills until she was ready to be released.
